Many people are afraid to put there dogs in crates, this confuses me because once you train your dog to know that in their crate nothing can go wrong, they end up crawling in there whenever they want a sense of safety.
So why not start today? An easy simple way is to reward the dog when quiet by giving he/she a treat, letting he/she out, or petting him/her. But you might be saying, "my dog barks all the time!" An easy, cheap, and effective way is getting a spray bottle and filling just the bottom of the bottle with vinegar (you can use more if needed) then mix with some water and just squirt them when they bark to discourage unwanted behavior.
You still might not feel up to it because he/she freaks out. That's alright, you pulling them back out is encouraging the bad behavior, so put a dog bed in, maybe a bone to chew on and cover the crate with a blanket to give them a warm feeling of safety.
You might just not want to punish your little bud but i can assure you that they do not mind calming down one bit (: so give it a shot if some of this didn't turn out the way you thought it would just comment and I'll ake sure to get back to you!
